Reminder: SubCulture TPB Coming Soon!

by Kevin Freeman on October 23, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Posted In: Blog

Just as a friendly reminder, October Previews orders are probably getting close to becoming due. and SubCulture: The TPB is available for order.  It collects the original four-issue comics mini-series, plus is packed with extras:

  • A never-seen alternative cover to issue #2
  • New pinups by David Dwonch, Super Ugly, Danielle Corsetto, Alex Robinson, Lonnie Allen, and Ozzy Longoria
  • A section that locates and explains the literally hundreds of Easter eggs that are scattered throughout the book
  • Preliminary sketches and concept drawings of Stan’s earliest work on the book
  • The first 24 webstrips that continue the story.

All in all it’s 144 pages, in a handy 6X9 format. The book is on Page 210 of the October Previews, Diamond order code OCT08 3822.  It costs $16.95.  Ask your local comic book store to reserve your copy today.

If you so desire, you can also preorder the book from us, and if you do so, Stan and I will be happy to sign it for you.  Pre-order information will pop up on the Store page shortly.  Also order from us and shipping is FREE!

If you’re new to the webcomic, here is your chance to see where it all began.  And if you like the webcomic, I am sure that you will like this book as well.

“SubCulture is very funny, character-driven magic that will appeal to the inner-geek in all of us.”
–Jim Mahfood (Stupid Comics, Clerks, Grrl Scouts)

“If you’re stuck in a dead-end retail job, tried to impress a girl with your Bib Fortuna impression or eaten cereal for two meals in a single day, SubCulture is the witty, clever comic you’ve been waiting for, my nerdy friend!”
–Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Tricked)

Just Imagine…Palin as President!

by Kevin Freeman on October 18, 2008 at 8:40 pm

Here’s a fun little interactive thingamabob to pass a few minutes with:

http://www.palinaspresident.us

Click on all sorts of things, wherever the cursor turns into a pointy hand. Some things you can (and should) click more than once, as different things appear. And I don’t care if you are Republican, Democrat, or unaffiliated–it’s pretty funny, regardless.

And new stuff is added until election day, November 4.

There’s an effort to elect an unknown random person as President… and it’s someone we know that has an illicit connection with Stan Yan… and Kevin Bacon. Watch this online video about the surprising new nominee:

Then go to www.squidworks.com/Stan/Wang to see an interview with Katie Couric!
