And there you have it. Noel’s pretty passionate about her indie comics, that’s for sure. I’m not going to peer pressure anyone out there in comics-land, but I will say that many indie comics are completely dependent upon you for their survival (including this one to some degree).
They don’t have big publishers to help with the bills or the advertising. They don’t have that name recognition to give them a leg up, and many retailers simply won’t take the risk and order books they are not familiar with. As such, they depend on word of mouth from readers and friends.
And I have a saddle-stitch stapler, by the way. That would hurt.
