At last we get to meet Noel’s parent, and perhaps get to delve a little more deeply into one of our characters’ past. This first strip should give you a tiny hint about where we are going with this one.
Incidentally, my wife and I have been married for going on 20 years, and she still hides the booze when her parents come to visit.
We got 20 comments last strip–the most we’ve gotten in a LOOOONG time! Let’s keep it up. Trust me–Stan and I appreciate it when you chirp in, for better or worse!

Hell, when my parents visit, that’s when I beak out the booze!
I mean, I wouldn’t want to be bad host…fix Dad a scotch, mix Mom a margarita!
Do we ever get to the point of not being on our best behavoiur with our parents? Comment number two for you!
Dear Noel,
Try moving back home with your parents. Then you can freak out.
Love,
Amber
Heh, Amber. When you meet Noel’s parents, you’ll probably understand why that isn’t an option.
Well if you want comment I can oblige. I always read the strip, even if I dont Comment on it BTW.
With the way Noel and Jason complement each other Im surprised they broke up.
Yeah, they get along pretty well now. It’s a mutual understanding, I think. I like their platonic relationship.
I love the look on Noel’s face in panel 3. I have to admit that when my mom comes to visit me that is when I actually need to find my booze. For two reasons, first she is a bit of a wino and needs her wine. The only reason I own a wine stopper is from her last visit. And I am pretty sure that most people could use a drink after their parents are in town for a visit (even my non drinking live style would agree with that).
Noel is old-fashioned in her respect / fear of her folks. I’ve been accused of not respecting my elders
— probably for my comics
