It is a reasonable list. Stardock is probably the most known bunch of devs to try to adhere to it and have failed only one to my knowledge (with Elemental: War of Magic) although they made reparations after a few hasty remarks by one of their guys. They even reference it in their financials:
I happen to like Steam as a way of managing my games, friends, and receiving patches to them well the games, not the friends although that’s an interesting idea… but I guess the deal there is not to ‘require’ steam, but if I want to bung my key into steam and have that deal with it it’s my choice. So again it’s a fair point.
